José Mourinho – Gone!

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

The statement on Chelsea’s website simply states “Chelsea Football Club and José Mourinho have agreed to part company today (Thursday) by mutual consent.”

Wow, I mean the relationship between Mourinho and Roman Abramovich was maybe looking a bit strained but I would have never had guessed this happening, at least not so early in the football campaign. I personally think Mourinho will have more success stories to write in the footballing world, wherever he ends up, they will be a very lucky team.

McLaren Fined $100 Million

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

I’m not really sure what to make of all this malarkey. Certainly someone did something wrong and McLaren have been punished to the tune of 100 millon dollars, about 49 million UK pounds and stripped of all their constructor points for the season. I am just happy that none of the McLaren drivers were penalised as this would have been a grave injustice.

What a shame the Football “governors” could not have handed out a penalty of similar severity to West Ham – ie points deduction!

Nice Results

What a week of football it has been. England gain 6 points in 2 games beating both Israel and Russia 3 – 0 which now sees them in 2nd place in their Euro Championship group.

Today, my beloved Sheffield United beat Wolves 3 – 1 even though they were losing 1 – 0 at half time. What a good ‘buy’ James Beattie has been, after his 2 goals today, he as now scored a total of 4 goals since arriving at the lane. I just hope we can now keep up the good work and get back in the premier league to which we were wrongly ejected last season due to the FA refusing to deduct points from West Ham who really should have been relegated in our place.

First Crash? – Maybe Not!

Monday, September 10th, 2007

I had my first crash in LINUX or did I?? Everything froze, in the GUI, and any item/icon/button etc I clicked on gave no response whatsoever. I could not even open a shell (or so I thought) to kill off the rogue process, so resigning to defeat (far too easily I hasten to add) I simply rebooted.

Now, I have recently discovered from colleagues that I could have used CTRL+ALT+F1 to get a shell and obviously from here I could have discovered the rogue process and killed it off. Then I could have used CTRL+ALT+F7 to return to the GUI. I was also informed that if that did not work then I could use CTRL+ALT+Backspace to restart XTERM and return to the login screen without the need to reboot, D’oh! and double D’oh!

August VWD Lottery Results

Thursday, September 6th, 2007

This month our syndicate had 3 winning weeks:

01/08/07 Matched 2 balls – Syndicate win = £40 – Individual win = £0.82
08/08/07 Matched 2 balls – Syndicate win = £40 – Individual win = £0.82
22/08/07 Matched 2 balls – Syndicate win = £40 – Individual win = £0.82

I know it is only small amounts but it mounts up over time and don’t forget the National Lottery does not pay out on 2 numbers. Our Syndicate once matched 3 balls which made £674 for the syndicate and £13.76 for the individual. That is £3.76 more than if you matched the 3 numbers on the National Lottery yourself which only pays £10.

Also, don’t forget that is only one of the income streams. You can actually build a nice little income out of this or even turn it into a part time/full time business. For more information, please CLICK HERE

Back to it then!

Not done much updating lately. Recently had 2 weeks off work, went to Cornwall (just outside Looe) for the week and hope to have some photos up soon. I guess I should get my lazy ass back into gear now I’ve had a long enough “rest”…
